What is the PPL?
The Portland Pickleball League is the first team-based league in the Greater Portland area! Teams square off against one another during the regular season, then battle in the playoffs for the cash prize & crown of PPL Champion!
What is the league format?
Teams consist of 2 men and 2 women. Every match will have a minimum of 4 games. If teams are tied after 4 games, a Singles “Team-Breaker” will be played.

Game 3: Mixed (Woman 1 + Male 1)
Game 4: Mixed 2 (Woman 2 + Male 2)

What is the Portland Pickleball League?
The Portland Pickleball League is a vibrant community-focused league that promotes friendly competition among local teams. It offers a team-centric and energetic environment for players, while offering a unique format!
Do I need to have a Picklr Membership?
A Membership is preferred, as all matches will be played at The Picklr Westbrook. If you do not wish to purchase a membership, your league dues will be $150 and cover admittance into The Picklr for league nights only.
What is the timeline for the Fall PPL season? (tentative)
- Sign-Ups: through August 9th
- Combine & Draft: Sept 1st
- Week 1 of Reg. Season: September 8th
- Week 8 (Reg. Season Finale): 27th
- Playoffs: November 3rd
- Championship: November 7th (Saturday)
What is the Draft Combine?
Players who sign up will be asked to participate in an Open Play session, primarily for team captains to scout the field prior to drafting. This ensures captains are familiar with the play styles of all participants prior to selecting their teams.
How can I join?
To join the Portland Pickleball League, click the button below to fill out the registration form. Depending on availability, you will be placed into the player pool. The number of teams will be determined by total applicants, as each team requires 2 men and 2 women. Don’t miss out on the chance to be part of this exciting league!
How are teams formed?
Team Captains will be selected based on their DUPR ranking. On the league draft night, they will select players from the player pool to fill out their rosters. The snake draft format aims to evenly distribute the talent across all teams.
Are there any age or skill level restrictions for players?
The Portland Pickleball League welcomes players of all ages, but participants must be at least 18 years old to join. We plan to organize leagues for every level, encouraging players of all skill levels and backgrounds to participate.
What is the Championship Event?
The Championship matches for all leagues will [tentatively] be on Saturday Novemeber 7th at The Picklr. Food, Drink, Fans & Spectators will hopefully make it a lively event as we crown the champs!
When does the season start?
Our Fall season kicks off on September 1st (Draft Night) and runs through November 7th!
Are matches set for a specific day?
Yes. All matches will be played Tuesday nights from 6-9pm. Court space will be available starting at 5pm for warm-ups, or you can start your match early if all participants are present.
